For a couple of
years, no long term workers have been able, for various reasons, to work
in Namibia with the unengaged people groups there. These groups include
the Nama/Damara, the Herero, the Mbalantu, the Namibian Coloured as well
as some others. During July, 2007 a meeting is to be held with various
leaders to discuss and resolve matters that may be blocking Christian
workers from going to Namibia.
Pray for the
Forgotten Peoples of Namibia, the Herero, the Mbalantu, the Namibian
Coloured and the Nama/Damara. To find out more information please contact

Herero People:
“Include me too!” Last year during a survey trip, Victorine was one of several who accepted Christ in a remote Herero village. She was sent a book from a discipleship correspondence school that she could study and use to grow in her faith. It seems that Victorine has been discipling not only her friends, but anyone else that she can get to listen to her about Jesus Christ! Tjizameuua has written for us to include him in the correspondence lessons that we had sent to Victorine because he was one of those that she has been discipling! Victorine now writes asking for the next book in the sequence of lessons!
Praise: - We praise the Lord for J. C. and Janice Upton, new missionaries who have answered the call to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the Herero people! - Thank You, Lord, for speaking to the Herero and putting a desire in their hearts to want to know more about You! - Thank You for putting the Herero, an unengaged people, on the hearts of faithful prayer advocates throughout the world. - We praise God and are excited to see how new Christians are beginning to take seriously the challenge of sharing Jesus with others! - We are excited about the possibilities of using the new translation of the Jesus Film to reach the Herero people for Christ!
Pray:
- Please pray for the smooth processing of work permits for JC & Janice Upton. Pray that they will be allowed to enter Namibia to work among the Herero without delays.
THE COLOURED PEOPLE of Namibia: “A Hunger in the Desert.” When given the chance, most teenagers will avoid listening to a gospel presentation. They are at a point where they want to experience life and often believe that Jesus prevents true living. Well, in Ariamsvlei, Namibia, many teenagers eagerly wanted to hear the gospel. D. was one of these. He intently listened and wanted to know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. D. hungered true life and found it in Christ.

THE MBALANTU PEOPLE of northern Namibia in Africa: “An Open Heart.” Jason is a young Mbalantu man beginning the life of adulthood. Two believers shared the Gospel with him outside his traditional village home. He prayed for Jesus to save him that day. Then he sincerely thanked them for coming and sharing the Word of God. Please pray for Jason to grow in Christ. Pray for the Lord to build prayer support and call missionaries for the Mbalantu, an unengaged people.

who attended the
Namibian Pioneer Evangelism training conference (took place end of
October, 2004). We are praying
that evangelical Christian Namibians will take the Gospel to their people.

People: We have a partnership with Campus Crusade for Christ for
translating The Jesus Film into Otjiherero! We expect to
have the first showing in July 2005. Please pray for this project. |

Pray for: THE UNENGAGED PEOPLES of Namibia and South Africa: “Many Faces of Lostness.” Christianity has been on the continent of Africa for a long time. Yet there are still places where the name of Jesus is not known. There are places where ONLY the name of Jesus is known and the people are waiting to hear the gospel. There are still other places where the people think they are Christian because they were forced to get a baptismal certificate to get a job. In all these situations, they need a witness. Pray for the Lord to build prayer support for the unengaged peoples: Herero, Nama/Damara, Mbalantu, Northern Cape Coloured and Namibian Coloured.
